The Road to Fastroad

Fastroad started from my passion for Japanese cars and the desire to use my engineering and programming skills to improve them.

Today I focus on the Toyota AE86: plug-and-play harnesses, connectors and controllers that make the digital cluster conversion simple and reversible.

Most parts are made in small batches, because I care more about getting things right than making huge runs. Every now and then there will also be some rare vintage parts for sale.

Who am i

I’m João, an automotive engineer (B.Sc. in Automotive Engineering) who ended up working as a programmer.

Fastroad is where those two worlds meet: I design the electronics, write the firmware and build every kit myself.

I split my time between Switzerland and Portugal, and I’m always open to new ideas, whether it’s adapting a 3D part, sorting out some electronics, or building something completely custom. If it’s useful and makes cars better, I’m interested.
